Medical physicists maintain rigorous quality assurance programs to ensure that computer systems and equipment meet the highest standards.
Patient services team welcome patients and carers to our centre and coordinate patient appointments.
Our services include:
Deep Inspiration Breath Hold (DIBH)
A new ground-breaking technique for patients with left-sided breast cancer. This technique increases the amount of air in the lungs and moves the heart away from the chest wall, minimising radiation exposure to the heart.
Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT)
Enables high doses of radiation to be precisely delivered to the tumour whilst sparing normal tissues, resulting in fewer side effects.
Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT)
This form of IMRT involves a quicker treatment delivery process resulting in shorter treatment times for patients.
Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
Daily imaging prior to treatment is available at our centre and ensures submillimetre accuracy. This has been shown to improve outcomes.
Fine Slice CT Scanning and Treatment Planning
Patients have access to the latest CT technology within our centre. Our treatment planning process involves 3 dimensional and 4 dimensional assessments resulting in the most accurate treatment planning
