GenesisCare Victoria, previously known as Radiation Oncology Victoria was established in 1991 and became Victoria's first provider of private radiotherapy services. The opening of the East Melbourne facility provided immediate access to high quality radiation oncology services with no wait time to see a specialist doctor and start treatment.
Over the next decade, GenesisCare Victoria began building new cancer treatment practices across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. Today, metropolitan Melbourne sites include Berwick, Epping, Ringwood, Footscray, Frankston and St Vincent's in Fitzroy. In regional Victoria, Wodonga was the first rural practice established in Australia, offering residents in the Albury Wodonga region the option to receive their cancer treatment close to home. In October 2016, our Wodonga centre moved into the new, world class Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre located in Albury.
For 25 years, GenesisCare Victoria has provided the best radiotherapy cancer care to Victorians seeking immediate treatment when faced with a diagnosis of cancer. In partnership with GenesisCare and its national network, the services of GenesisCare Victoria continue to improve as new equipment is implemented into clinical practice and staff are constantly trained and challenged to provide the most advanced treatment techniques and approaches available in Australia.
GenesisCare Victoria treats public and private, insured and non-insured patients with Medicare covering 80-90% of the cost. For more information about treatment by one of our doctors, please contact our East Melbourne office on 03 9418 2200.
